The $1.85 billion Aramco Gas Project in Saudi Arabia was signed by Samsung Engineering.

One of the world’s leading companies in engineering and procurement, construction, and project management (EPC&PM), Samsung Engineering reported today that the Aramco HUGRS (Hawiyah Unayzah Storage Gas Reservoir) Project was signed into a USD 1.85 billion contract on 23 January 2020. A letter of intent and contract for initial work was also signed in November of last year by Samsung Engineering.

The project is situated 260 km east of the capital of Riyadh, Hawiyah, and contains a 1.500 million Standard Cubic Feet Day (MMSCFD) gas injection facility of 2,000 MMSCFD. The project consists of a gas injection facility.

The work includes a gas injection system with injection compressors and booster compressors, gas reproduction plants with reproductive compressors and slug catchers, and utilities and off-site plants.

Based on its extensive experience in Saudi Arabia and a good partnership with customers, Samsung Engineering is confident about the success of this project. Samsung Engineering has carried out over 30 projects worth about 15 billion dollars since its first entry into Saudi Arabia in 2003, half of them with Aramco projects.

Samsung Engineering is sure that the network of established local partners, the use of resources, and the smooth contact with the customer contribute to a project that supports the customer and KSA based on the accumulated know-how.

The President & CEO of Samsung Engineering, Sungan Choi, said: “We have received this contract with believing that our knowledge, engineering excellence and partnership with the customer helped to this order. Samsung Engineering continues to deliver secure and high-quality projects, ensuring that the project marks Saudi Arabia and leads us to improve our position in the Middle East.
